THE CMF LAB

R&D - Therapeutic Music - Collaborations

Exploring how sound, vibration, light and emerging technology can shape human experience.

R&D

Change My Frequency began with immersive sound, but the longer-term vision extends far beyond a single session format.

The CMF Lab is where I develop and test new ideas - combining music, psychoacoustics, vibroacoustics, programmable light and biometric sensing to explore how people respond to immersive experiences, and how those experiences might adapt in return.

Current development includes tactile sound systems, responsive audio, programmable light and the early design of an adaptive multisensory chair - with the longer-term goal of creating experiences that respond in real time to changes in physiology.

The intention is not to add technology for its own sake. It is to create experiences that become more responsive, personal and alive.

Some ideas will become part of CMF journeys. Others may become entirely new experiences.

This is where they begin.

THERAPEUTIC MUSIC

Bespoke music composed around the experience.

Music used in therapeutic and wellbeing settings is often selected after the treatment or experience has already been designed. CMF begins somewhere different: with the structure, intention and rhythm of the work itself.

A composition might evolve alongside a massage treatment, support different stages of breathwork or meditation, incorporate spatial audio and low-frequency vibration, or create a sonic environment unique to a practitioner’s own methodology.

For Oak Tree Massage, I created bespoke compositions around the sequence and timing of the treatment, allowing the music and practitioner to move through the experience together.

I’m interested in working with therapists, bodyworkers, retreat facilitators and wellbeing practitioners who want sound to become an integral part of their work - rather than simply something playing in the background.

COLLABORATIONS

Interesting things happen when different worlds collide.

CMF is driven by curiosity - particularly around the ways sound, vibration, light and immersive experiences can interact with different practices, people and environments.

I’m interested in collaborating with therapists and wellbeing practitioners, musicians and artists, researchers, technologists, movement and breathwork practitioners - and people working in spaces I may not have considered yet.

A collaboration might become a one-off immersive event, an experimental session, a new therapeutic experience, a research project, or simply two very different ideas placed in the same room to see what happens.

Not every experiment needs to begin with a finished concept. Sometimes an interesting question is enough.

If something about CMF connects with what you’re working on, I’d love to hear the idea. Propose a collaboration
